A loan of $4,750 helped a member to pay for the construction of a hygienic toilet and a hand-washing device with soap.

Group 4 - Tân Việt 01's story

Ms. Tra, 51, works in agricultural production with a monthly income of approximately VND 710,000. She is married with two grown-up children. She has been a member of the Women's Union since 1982.

Her family is currently using a double-pit latrine which is now degraded and has the risks of potential adverse affects to the health of her family members, her community, and environment contamination.

With a portion of this loan, she will be able to buy materials to build a hygienic septic tank latrine and a hand-washing device with soap.

Those facilities would also help her family improve their health, living conditions, and afford safety for them, particularly at night and during rainstorms, in addition to providing convenience, cleanliness, and privacy for all family members, while contributing to the environment protection of the community.

In the picture, Ms. Tra is the first from the left.
