A loan of $1,600 helped to pay for the irrigation and to prepare the vineyard for the winter.

Hripsik's story

Hripsik is an experienced agronomist from Lusarat village of the Ararat region. She lives with her husband. It has been more than 15 years since she began cultivating wheat, apples, and grapevines. With the help of her husband she sells the agricultural products in the local market, which is the main source of their income. Hripsik’s agribusiness currently needs some investments in order to continue developing in a sustainable way. A loan of USD 1,600 will help her greatly by enabling her to pay for the irrigation and to prepare the vineyard for the winter. As this is Hripsik’s first loan, it has been approved within the framework of the new joint initiative of Kiva and SEF. The first-chance loan program provides loans to people who didn’t have access to credit products before, because they have no credit history. Hripsik and her husband rely on the good will of the lenders and will appreciate their support greatly.
