Mari's story

Mari is a young farmer from Zangakatun village of the Vayots Dzor region. She lives with her husband and parents-in-law. Mari's husband is a contractual serviceman, and her father-in-law works in the village's local secondary school. All the family works hard to earn a living.

With help of her family members, Mari is engaged in cattle breeding, in breeding sheep, and in the cultivation of alfalfa, cherries, apples and walnuts. They sell the agricultural products in the local market, which is an important source of income for the family.

The barn of the livestock is currently in poor condition and needs to be renovated. Besides this, the family's agribusiness needs some investments to be ready for the winter. A loan of USD 3,000 will help this young, hardworking woman and her family greatly, enabling them to renovate the barn, to purchase some forage for the livestock, and to pay for the harvesting services.
