Group 9 - Tân Việt 01's story

Ms. Trang, 60, works in farming and has a monthly income of approximately VND 650,000. She is married and the mother of four grown-up children. She has been a member of the Women's Union since 1973. Her family is currently using a double-pit latrine which no longer works well and puts them at risk for potential adverse affects to health. It is also putting the health of her community and her environment at risk. With a portion of this loan, she will be able to buy materials to build a hygienic septic-tank latrine and a hand-washing device with soap. These facilities will help her family improve its health, living conditions and safety, particularly at night and during rainstorms. It will also provide convenience, cleanliness and privacy for all family members, while contributing to the environmental protection of the community. In the picture, Ms. Trang is standing in the middle of the first row.
