A loan of $1,450 helped to buy Christmas cakes, wines, and decorations.

Bertila's story

Bertila is sixty years old and lives with her daughter in the district of Pucará, which is located two hours from the city of Jaén in the northern mountain region of Peru. The people here make a living growing fruit, coffee, and cocoa, running shops, and raising livestock.

She has a grocery store where she sells items like milk, rice, and beans. This small shop is located in her own home. She also makes a living selling prepaid phone cards. Her husband helps her with this work.

She has requested a loan of 4,000 soles to stock her business; she will buy Christmas cakes, wines, decorations, and other items. In this way, she will be able to earn more income for her family.
