A loan of $900 helped to buy balanced feed to fatten his animals.

Segundo Bernardo's story

Segundo Bernardo, age 47, lives with his wife and children in the Nueva Arica district. The population there works in agriculture, commerce, and with livestock. It is one hour from the city of Chiclayo on the northern coast of Peru.

He has been raising and selling small animals; turkeys, chickens, and pigs in the area behind his house for ten years. With his wife’s help, they sell them at the market in the area.

Segundo has requested a loan for 2,501 soles to buy balanced feed. This way he will have better production. He will use part of the loan to buy more animals in order to later sell them for a better price.
