A loan of $550 helped to buy basic grocery items and feed.

Maria's story

María, 53, lives in the Morropon district, located two hours from the city of Piura on Peru's north coast. The residents farm, run businesses, and raise livestock. María has a store in her house, where she sells groceries like rice, milk, eggs, beans, and more. She also raises and sells small animals like pigs and turkeys. She has applied for a loan of 1500 nuevos soles to buy basic items for her store and to buy feed so that she has more output to sell to customers.
