Kethegbeh Group's story

Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT), a partner of Kiva.org in Makeni, northern Sierra Leone, is very pleased to present to you members of the “Kathegbeh” group. They are two small-scale entrepreneurs who have come to SMT/Kiva lenders to apply for a loan of SLL 1,500,000 for each in order to invest in their respective businesses.

Adama is the featured leader of this group. Adama was born in Makeni, in northern Sierra Leone. She is married and has six children. Her husband is a lorry driver, and her children are attending primary and secondary schools.

Adam sells "Yoruba items" (locally made or produced items like creams and body lotion, jewelry and rings, earrings, native grains, eye shadow, etc.) and has been doing this business for many years now.

With the help of this loan, Adam will invest in her business by buying the above-mentioned items in bulk to add to her current stock.
