Mubarak's story

Mubarak is 53 years old, married and raising four children together with her husband. Two of the children are students, studying at the university in the capital of Kyrgyzstan. The two youngest children live with their parents.

Mubarak has secondary education. As a main source of income for her family, she works with livestock breeding, after having started 20 years ago with the purchase of livestock for 10,000 som (KGS). Thanks to Mubarak's persistent work, her farm currently has three dairy cows and 10 sheep. Her husband works with transport of cargo and does not have a large income either. The total monthly income is 10,000 som (KGS).

With an aim to further develop her business, Mubarak turned to the microfinance bank "Bai Tushum & Partners" for a loan to purchase sheep for increasing the number of livestock. Mubarak plans to invest the income from the loan in further increasing the number of livestock. She also plans to save money for increasing the material well-being of the family.
