A loan of $4,475 helped a member to purchase peanuts and millet to resell.

Bineta's Group's story

This group was created on December 21, 2009 when the 'banc villageois' was inaugurated. It comprises 24 women who have a high degree of solidarity. Most of them have small-scale businesses.

Standing at the right in the photo with her hand raised, TAGUE is the group's representative. She is 50 years old, a widow, and the mother of seven children, including three boys.

With the loan in hand, she will purchase peanuts and millet at 200 francs per kilo in order to build up an inventory to resell at 275 francs per kilo four months later.

The profits generated by her business will enable her to take care of her offspring, as well as save money and prepare for their future.
