A loan of $1,800 helped to purchase 15 sheep and forage for cattle.

Aida's story

Aida, a farmer from the village of Anipemza in Shirak region, lives with her husband, two school-age daughters, ages 10 and 8 years, and three-year-old-son, all shown in the photo.

Aida's husband works in the village local school. His salary, however, is not enough to meet the needs of the family. To take care of her family's needs, Aida is engaged in cattle and sheep breeding, aviculture and beekeeping. With the help of her husband, Aida sells the agricultural products in the local market, which is an important source of their income.

To continue running her agribusiness and to develop it further, Aida needs to make some investments. She has therefore requested a loan of USD 1800 to purchase 15 sheep as well as forage for cattle.

As this is Aida’s first loan, it has been approved within the framework of the new joint initiative of Kiva and SEF. The first-chance loan program provides loans to people who did not have previous access to credit products because they have no credit history.

Aida and her family will be very thankful to the lenders for their goodwill and support in extending the needed amount.
