A loan of $1,500 helped to pay for equipment to roll dough.

Naira's story

Naira is from Kapan, where she lives with her husband and two children. For the past eight years, Naira has been making Armenian bread called "lavash". She bakes “lavash” in one of the local bakeries and due to its great taste, it is in very high demand among locals.

Naira now asks for financial support to be able to purchase equipment for rolling the dough. This will make her work more efficient and Naira will be able to increase the production of bread. Naira has now been approved for a loan within the framework of a new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF International. The start-up loan program provides business start-up loans with soft conditions to informal businesses that do not have access to credit products. The loan is very important for Naira and she hopes for lenders' support.
