A loan of $500 helped to pay for notebooks for providing trainings to children.


Gohar's story

Gohar lives in Vanadzor town with her mother. After graduating university Gohar started to work at a local school. Together with work at school, Gohar has been also providing trainings for her students. Despite her young age, Gohar is skilled and educated enough to be able to provide high-quality trainings. Now, for creating more efficient conditions for her and her students, Gohar wants to purchase notebooks. She asks for this loan for purchasing the notebooks and being able to provide better quality trainings.

Gohar has now been approved for a loan within the framework of a new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF international. The start-up loan program provides business start-up loans with soft conditions to informal businesses that do not have access to credit products. The loan is very important for this young teacher to be able to improve the teaching method.

Gohar is the only breadwinner of the family, and the income from teaching is very important for her and her mother.
