A loan of $1,450 helped to pay for both a rental property and a vehicle for transporting his stock.

Jose Luis's story

Jose Luis, 28, lives in Zaña with his wife and children. The district of Zaña is about forty-five minutes from Chiclayo, a city on the north coast of Peru. Fruit crops are a major source of income for local people.

Jose Luis and his family raise farm animals--goats and poultry--for sale. His wife makes and sells food and their combined income is enough to support their family.

Jose Luis is applying for a 4,000 new soles loan, which he will use to buy a vehicle for transporting the animals he raises to markets in the surrounding area, and will therefore save the on the costs of transporting his animals, generating higher income for his family.
