A loan of $375 helped to buy animal feed and pigs and sheep to fatten up.

Eusebio's story

Eusebio, who is 58, lives with his son in a rural area in Oyotun, which is two hours from the city of Chiclayo on the north coast of Peru. People in the town work in business, agriculture and cattle-rearing.

He and his son breed turkeys, pigs, hens and guinea pigs in the yard at the back of their home. Eusebio has applied for a loan of 1,000 nuevos soles to buy animal feed and small animals which he can later fatten up and sell them for a better price at the local market.
