A loan of $1,675 helped to build a roof at her husband's business.

Sara Alicia's story

Sara, 53, lives in the home that she and her husband bought through much effort. Thanks to the sacrifice of her parents she was able to finish primary school; but then she had to work to earn a living. Her small business has been growing and growing. Despite having a job that demands much time and effort, she is able to take care of the household and her husband, as well as sell small animals. Her husband is as merchanic and has a workshop. Sara and her family currently live in the southern part of the city of Latacunga which belongs to parish of Ignacio Flores and province of Cotopaxi, in Ecuador.

As far as her economy is concerned, we could say she is at the lowest level; therefore she earns extra income from sources other than the sale of chickens and pigs.

Sara is requesting a loan to build a roof over her husband's shop. It is worth mentioning that this couple is very entrepreneurial. They are grateful to the Fundación Alternativa in Ecuador and to Kiva for making it possible for their business and personal life to flourish.
