A loan of $1,225 helped to buy potatoes and maize.

Samwel's story

Samwel lives in the Nanyuki area of the central province near Mt. Kenya. He is 32 years old, married and blessed with two children. He owns a food cafe and he is a farmer. He started the food business two years ago and he has managed to employ two people to help him run the business. He sells food and beverages. He learned about Milango through a friend who asked him to join so that he could save and be able to access funding for his business. He now seeks a loan to buy potatoes and maize for preparing the foods that he sells. He hopes that in the next five years, he will be running a successful restaurant in town. The income that he will raise from the business will improve his farm and help him educate his children. The major setbacks in the business are the seasonal market and the competition.
