Mwanida's story

Mwanida is a 28-year-old single mother. She lives in Lusaka, Zambia where she manages a mobile money outlet. The business provides for her and her three year old son, Raymond. Mwanida knows the mobile money business well as she previously worked as a teller for years. Now, managing a shop has enabled her to earn more income to provide for her mother, her son, and other day-to-day costs. Mwanida has plans to use the loan to add to her working capital float so that she can service more customers making financial transactions. With her client base increasing, Mwanida sees potential in growing the existing shop and using the profits to open another outlet. Mwanida would eventually like to return to school to study Marketing. She sees this business as a good way to earn money to pay for schooling, as well as provide for her growing son.
