A loan of $3,325 helped a member to pay for the construction of a hygienic toilet and a hand-washing device with soap.

Group 5 - Vĩnh Lập 01's story

Ms. Tam, 54, works in agricultural production with a monthly income of about VND 700,000. She is married with two grown-up children. Ms. Tam has been a member of the Women's Union since 1984. Her family currently does not have a sanitary latrine.

With a portion of this loan, she will be able to gain access to latrine hardware facilities which include a hygienic septic tank latrine and a hand-washing device with soap. Those facilities would also help her family improve their living conditions, provide a safe location for them to defecate, particularly at night and during rainstorms, in addition to providing convenience, cleanliness and privacy for all family members, while contributing to the environmental health of the community. In the picture, she is the fourth from the right.
