A loan of $2,375 helped a member to pay for the construction of a hygienic toilet and a hand-washing device with soap.

Group 8 - Vĩnh Lập 01's story

Xuyền, 27, works in agricultural production with a monthly income of nearly VND 700,000. She is married with two little children. She has been a member of the Women's Union since 2009.

Due to economic hardship, her family has not yet been able to build a septic tank latrine and is currently using a double-pit latrine which is now degraded. With a portion of this loan, she will be able to gain access to latrine hardware facilities which include a hygienic septic tank latrine and a hand-washing device with soap.

Those facilities would also help her family improve their health, living conditions, and personal safety (particularly at night and during rainstorms), in addition to providing convenience, cleanliness, and privacy for all family members, while contributing to the environmental health of the community.
