A loan of $2,850 helped a member to pay for the construction of a hygienic toilet and a hand-washing device with soap.

Group 10 - Vĩnh Lập 01's story

Ms. Nhinh, 29, works in agricultural production with a monthly income of nearly VND 700,000. She is married with two little children. She has been a member of the Women's Union since 2009.

Due to economic hardship, her family has not yet been able to build a septic tank latrine, and is using an unhygienic double-pit latrine which is now degraded.

With this loan, she will be able to gain access to latrine hardware facilities which includes a hygienic septic tank latrine and a hand-washing device with soap.

Those facilities would also help her family improve their health, living conditions, and safety, particularly at night and during rainstorms, in addition to providing convenience, cleanliness, and privacy for all family members, while contributing to the environmental health of the community.

In the picture, Ms. Nhinh is standing in the front row, first from the right.
