A loan of $975 helped to buy work materials, and maintain and repair her stand.

Shirley Patricia's story

Shirley is 22 years old and has a 3-month-old baby. She sells food and lunches from her stand which is located in the Santa Rosa zone. This loan is her first with the institution, and Shirley will use it for the maintenance and repair of her stand. She will also buy work material for her business.

Shirley's reason for requesting this loan is that she needs to repair her kiosk and also cement the base of the stand. She faces such challenges in her business as having to get up to prepare the food very early when it's cold out, and she is prone to catching rheumatism which is very common among people who do this work. She will use the proceeds to buy supplies, and tables and chairs so she can sell more comfortably and offer good service to her customers. Her wish for her business is to have a more varied and larger menu so she can sell more and better products and thus get ahead in life.
