A loan of $6,150 helped to pay for registration, transport and books for her nursing course.

Rita Alexandra's story

Rita Alexandra is a young nursing student. She is asking for a loan to be able to pay for her studies, this is her story:

My name is Rita, I live in Monte Bonito, Cienfuegos, in the Dominican Republic. I live with my mother, sister, aunt and cousin. I am not married and have no children. I am a young woman who needs your support to be able to learn new things which will contribute to my personal and professional development; and develop fully my potential and obtain a degree. I do not have a lot of money, and my parents cannot fund my studies as my father does not earn enough. I want to continue my studies for a nursing degree at the Technological University of Santiago (UTESO). I chose this course because I can become and present myself as a professional, since it is my vocation, giving patients the dedication they need. I started this course in January 2013, I was in my first semester, and I could not afford to continue studying.

This loan is much needed because it will help me continue my studies so that I will become a professional, and I will be useful to my family and society. I know that this loan will change my life as I will obtain a lifeline that I can trust and so achieve my goals. My aims and dreams are to finish my studies at university, my masters etc, help my family and do my job as best I can.
