Gwikonge Group's story

This is a group of eight farmers called Gwikonge. They came together in order to grow socially and economically through agriculture.

Michael, who is raising up his hand, is 48 years old. He is married with nine children. He depends solely on farming to earn a living and is therefore keen on practicing better farming methods. During the 2014 long rains, Michael will plant a one acre farm with maize on ½ acre and sorghum and millet on ¼ acre each.

He is therefore requesting a loan to enable him to purchase farm inputs. With the farm inputs, he is hopeful that the harvest will be good and he will ensure food security for his large family.

In this group: Elizabeth, Francis, Jeriah, Michael, Mohabe, Sabina, Susan
