A loan of $1,400 helped to buy a buffalo for milk.

M. Aslam's story

M. Aslam is a 64-year-old married man. He lives in the rural area of Lahore, Pakistan with his wife and six children. He has been in the business of selling milk since childhood. He learned all the techniques for getting milk from his family. This is the only source of income for the family. One of his buffaloes has grown old and is producing very little milk. He delivers milk in the market and door-to-door. For delivery purposes, he uses his bicycle. He loads milk cans on his bicycle and delivers it early in the morning. His customers like the fresh and delicious milk he delivers. His monthly net income is too low due to the old buffalo not meeting the household needs.

Therefore, M. Aslam planned to purchase one more buffalo to increase his sales. However, he finds it difficult due to financial constraints. M. Aslam has requested a loan from Kiva's partner BRAC Pakistan. This will not only help him to increase sales, but it will also increase his net income and savings as well. He hopes to provide a quality education for his children. He is a very hard-working and responsible person. He is very thankful to Kiva and BRAC Pakistan.
