A loan of $850 helped buy all types of clothes and shoes.

Luisa Janely's story

The 'Leónidas Proaño' loan group gets together every fortnight in the neighborhood of the same name in the city of Manta, a city known for it's gorgeous beaches which are visited by many people all year round as it is a city of unparalleled beauty with many tourist attractions. Here lives Ms Luisa who is 38 years old and a single mother to a 14 year old daughter who goes to school. She lives in her parents' house with her daughter.

Ms Luisa is a good mother who, in order to make her own living and to make sure her daughter gets ahead, sells clothes and women's shoes. She sells door-to-door, working three days a week for around two to three hours a day and the majority of her sales are through advanced orders from her customers. She delivers her products to them on credit and only charges them every 15 days. She travels to Quito or to Ambato to buy her goods. She has been doing this for 4 years and thanks to her business, her daughter is able to get ahead.

This loan is to buy all types of clothes and shoes. She has been with the loan group for 4 years and she likes it as thanks to her first loan she was able to start her business. Her dreams are to provide the best of everything for her daughter.
