A loan of $1,000 helped to buy more cosmetics.

Juliet's story

Juliet is 35 years old and lives in the town of Kyenjojo in the region of Mubende in Uganda. She is married and has three children; none are currently in school. For the past three years, Juliet has been working hard to manage her salon business, which deals in hairdressing and sells cosmetics.

To help expand her business, Juliet has requested a loan of 2,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more cosmetics, and will help Juliet to generate greater profits and increase sales. Juliet hopes that in the future, she will be able to have a bigger salon.

Juliet is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Juliet who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
