A loan of $800 helped a member to increase more on fabrics to resell.

Tamalinda Group's story

Naomi is a single mother with two children, one is in school and another has completed school. For five years now, Naomi (aged late thirties) has been managing her family by running a clothes business (fabrics) door to door. She works from 9am to 6pm per working day and is able to make a good monthly profit. This will be her fifth loan request from Tujijenge Tanzania, which she will use to increase her inventory of fabrics to resell. Naomi's previous loans, all of which have been paid back in full, were used to buy more fabrics for her business. Naomi is working hard to make her business succeed. She used her profits to buy a radio, TV and sofa set. She paid household expenses and saved some in her bank account. Naomi dreams to take her own bigger loan. She will share this loan with her loan group, " TAMALINDA", which totals 3 members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
