Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $325 helped to buy a dairy cow.

Vicente's story

Vicente is 68 years old and has a sixth grade education. He is married and his wife is a housewife. He and his wife rise at 4:00 am and she is dependent on him.

Vicente is a farmer, which he learned from his parents, and he walks 2 km to get to his farm plots, meanwhile his wife milks the cows and sells the milk. Later in the afternoon she cares for the animals in the stalls they rent.

He is asking for this loan, through Fundación Campo, to buy a dairy cow to produce more milk to make cheese and cream and increase the income to support the family.

He wants to fix up his home because the roof is no good anymore and it leaks. This damages his things.
