Saranga Group's story

Zuhura, who is in her late 30s, is married and has a son and a daughter who are in school. For three years now, she has had a retail shop selling items like dry foods, cooking oil, airtime etc. Zuhura has also been running a tailoring business since 1997. She starts working from 6 am to 9 pm each working day and is able to make a very good monthly profit. This will be her 13th loan request from Tujijenge Tanzania. With the previous loans, all of which were paid back successfully, she opened a retail shop and bought more missed shop inventories. Her family is happy. Zuhura used her profit to cover school fees, food expenses and saved a portion of her profit for future. She will use this loan to buy a tailoring machine and the out-of-stock items in her retail shop. She dreams to be a good entrepreneur. She will share this loan with her loan group Saranga, which totals 12 members. The member of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
