Noelia's story

Noelia was born in the province of Pilcopata, but she lives in the city of Salvación. (The city of Salvación is located in the district of Manu in the province of Manu, which is in the department of Madre de Dios, Peru.) She is 25 years old and married. She has one child as a result of her wonderful marriage. She is a hard-working and enterprising mother who helps her family to get ahead. Her main job is selling and buying fruit, such as bananas, pineapple, oranges, and other tropical fruit. She has already had the business for several years and it is going very well for her thanks to the effort she puts into her work. She belongs to the communal bank “Tesoritos del Manu” (Little Treasures from Manu) and needs the loan on this occasion in order to purchase more merchandise, such as apples, coconas [native to the Andean region of South America], and passionfruit. She is grateful for the loan and appreciates it, and she promises to comply with the monthly repayment schedule.
