Leocrecia is a member of the microfinance institution called “Kusikuy,” which means “cheer up” in Quechua.

Leocrecia is a 55-year-old married mother of 9 children. She lives in the Quinuapata neighborhood of the city of Ayacucho. From her home, she operates a small general in which she sells groceries, vegetables, meats, ice cream. She is open every day of the week from 5am to 9pm, getting help from her children.

Leocrecia needs a loan of 2,550 Peruvian soles, which will be invested in the purchase of rice, sugar, cooking oil, noodles, chicken, and ice cream. Leocrecia dreams of building a beautiful home, buying a car, and offering her children a better life than the one that she has had.
