A loan of $350 helped to buy a counter to protect and exhibit the items and utensils that Iris sells.

Iris Karin's story

Iris is 27 years old. She is single and works as an executive secretary. She lives with her mother and her two younger sisters, who are still studying.

Because of the heavy demand of work she cannot pursue her professional career. Nevertheless, she refuses not to succeed, and so she sells kitchen utensils (rice pots, thermoses, jars, plates, and other things), a business that has gone very well and is very profitable. She has been doing this activity for the past two years, working alone for hours, and now she has a selective clientele, whom she gives articles on credit or for cash. What she enjoys about her work is socialising and exchanging ideas with her clients. The hard part is that she doesn’t have an adequate place where she can exhibit her products.

She works to help with the family expenses, and also in order to maintain her business activity.

She wants to invest in the purchase of a counter and to place her products in an adequate manner in order that they may be more secure.
