A loan of $3,575 helped a member to purchase tubers.

Virgen De Yauca Group's story

Gloria is 43 years old and is a single mother of two children. She has worked for the past ten years selling tubers (including potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, onions, etc.) in a rented market stall. Gloria has loyal customers, which has provided income in order to cover her household expenses. In the future she would like to have her own stall in order to be able to sell her tubers and obtain better income. With the loan that she receives she will invest in purchasing more tubers and thus be able to get ahead. Gloria and all of the group members in her team are thankful to Kiva and Kiva partner Edaprospo for the loan offered and for the trust that has been placed in them. Gloria can be seen in the picture in a mustard colored sweatshirt, and she is the first person on the right hand side. She promises to meet all of the proposed goals.
