A loan of $650 helped to buy merchandise in general.

Ivania Azucena's story

Ivania Azucena is an older adult. She is married and has five children. She is a native of one of the towns of Chinandega, an area dominated by commerce, tourism, and the delicious doughnuts. Ivania is a micro-entrepreneur who works as a street vendor in the business of buying and selling merchandise in general, such as various styles of clothing, for children as well as for adults, shoes, accessories, and cosmetics, among other items. She sells her products to her regular and occasional customers for cash and on credit. She collects weekly and biweekly. She has already had this business for a number of years, and it has allowed her and her children to advance. She is characterized as being a very entrepreneurial woman with the desire for personal achievement. The purpose of this loan is to invest in working capital, since the Christmas season is near and her orders have increased more than expected. Therefore she needs to buy clothing, shoes, and cosmetics, among other items. Ivania is very grateful for the help that the Kiva lenders offer to people of low economic resources.
