Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Esperanza Group's story

The group called "Esperanza" (Hope) is in its 22nd loan cycle with the Women's Committee Program. All of the women have put forth their best effort in each of the loan cycles so that they can improve their lives and those of their families.

One decent individual worth mentioning is Sra. Gloria, who works as a hairdresser. She says that she was able to establish a good clientele because she provides good service to all of her customers. Gloria also makes all types of clothes for her customers in order to support herself. Her dream is to have a large workshop so that she can provide jobs to other people who also need to work and move forward.

Gloria is requesting a loan because she wants to buy fabrics, thread, buttons, elastic, and other supplies in order to keep working and fulfilling orders for her customers. In addition, she can keep improving her income.

In this group: Gladyz, Viviana, Lilian, Rosalba, Evarista, Brigida, Wilma, Myrian, Cynthia, Cendula, Carmen, Herminia, Teresa, Tarciana, Gloria, Luciana*, Maria*
