A loan of $550 helped to buy small farm animals, pigs and turkeys.

Jose Ylden's story

José Ylden is 51 years old. He lives with his wife in the district of Oyotun, where most local people work in rice and sugarcane farming, general trade, and livestock farming. It is two hours from the city of Chiclayo, on the northern coast of Peru.

José has a small business located in his home, where his wife sells poultry. He works as an agricultural laborer in the villages surrounding his community.

He has requested a loan of 1,500 nuevos soles to buy minor species, pigs and turkeys, in order to fatten them up and later offer them for sale at a higher price.
