Ama A. started her local restaurant nine years ago in Goaso where she lives. Since then, she has become one of the most popular food vendors in her neighborhood. She is now 35 years old and married with one kid and two step kids who are currently in school. Ama serves many kinds of local dishes, like fufu, rice balls, and banku, among others. Fufu is prepared from pounded cassava and plantain and taken with soup. Banku is prepared from milled maize grains and taken with hot pepper or soup.
