Marjanbu's story

Marjanbu is 56 years old and a widow. After the death of her husband she is raising two children herself, and also has her own business. Marjanbu has secondary education. As a main source of income for her family, Marjanbu works with livestock breeding, after having started 35 years ago with the purchase of livestock for 1,000 som (KGS). Thanks to Marjanbu's persistent work, her farm currently has two dairy cows and 10 sheep. The monthly income is 12,000 som (KGS).

With an aim to further develop her business, Marjanbu turned to the microfinance bank "Bai Tushum & Partners" for a loan in the amount of 70,000 som (KGS) for the purchase of calves to fatten and then resell at the market for a higher price. Marjanbu plans to invest the income from the loan in further increasing the number of household animals.
