A loan of $1,575 helped to purchase merchandise at wholesale (cosmetics, body lotion, perfume, accessories among others) and nutritional products (multi-vitamins, shakes, dietary supplements).

Elsy Dadeira's story

Elsy, 40, is married and mother to two children. During most her life she has worked as an employee in a gambling establishment, selling lottery and games of chance. After some time, she began working for herself, she became a street vendor selling tamales and deli meats as well as selling products from a catalogue. Seeing acceptation with these products she decided to work full time in this activity as it provides a good income. For her it meant better revenues which in turn she could contribute to the household income. The microenterprise describes her as a person who is charismatic, driven and hard working. Her desire to better herself motivated her to request a loan to purchase merchandise at wholesale (cosmetic, body lotion, perfume, accessories among others) and nutritional products (multi-vitamins, shakes, dietary supplements). This way she can take advantage of the discounts when purchasing in bulk, causing an increase in margin per sale. In addition, she wishes to enter in the sale of nutritional products taking advantage of the current market; these products are sold easily, as people are interested in taking care of their health and figure. This way she can improve her income significantly. Elsy dreams of strengthening her business and in the future be able to start her own Health Club located in a place where she can increase her sales and get more revenue to provide her family’s needs and give them better living conditions.
