A loan of $275 helped to purchase farm supplies to help her potato crops.

Alba Luz's story

Alba Luz is 25 years old. She is enterprising, a fighter, single, and the mother of a son who is young and lives at home with her parents. She attended a year of primary school, but she was not able to continue studying since her parents lacked resources and they were not able to continue supporting her. Thanks to her parents, she learned to farm potatoes. Seven years ago, she was also able to add to her knowledge with trainings received at a study center in her community. She also works selling food on Sundays. Everyday, she looks to improve her family's living conditions and secure a future for her son. Her crops are located close to her home, so it is easier to care for them and attend them permanently.

Alba Luz says her only challenge is the increase in the cost of the supplies that she uses to care for her crops. This is why she is requesting a loan to purchase farm supplies that will help her protect her crops from plagues so that at the end of the season she will be able to obtain a good harvest. With this purchase, she plans to expand her crops, offer more to her customers, and generate more income for her family. Her dream is to be able to give her son a good education and a better quality of life.
