A loan of $1,050 helped restock her shop with goods.

Mame Bousso's story

Mame Bousso is part of a "Banc Villageois" loan association that was created 12 December 2009.

She is 55 years old, married and the mother of eight children including three girls. She opened a shop in a big regional city and has her son manage it. The city is where she both resupplies and sells her goods.

She plans to buy a stock of goods for her shop, that is five bags of rice at 13,000 francs each, five 20-liter cans of oil at 17,000 francs each, 15 boxes of soap at 7,500 francs each, 20 bags of candy at 500 francs each, three 50-kilo bags of sugar at 28,000 francs each, etc. This stock is replenished four times per season.

The profits generated are used to build up her savings and also help those of her children who have their own dependents and are unable to cope financially.
