Bintou's story

Bintou is a young woman of strong determination in the development of her income generating small business. This is a women who has seen a marked increase in sales since the establishment of the banc villageois in August of 2011. At the ripe age of 38, she is married and has two girls and three boys, and runs a shop in the village where she sells both manufactured goods and locally processed products. She has been running her business for several years. Bintou purchases her merchandise at the central regional market and resells her goods at retail in the village.

With this new loan, Bintou plans to increase her stock by purchasing a half-ton of rice for 120,000 Francs CFA, and to purchase various consumer products. Bintou wants to use part of the income she earns to strengthen her financing capacity through savings, and she will use the rest of her income to participate in supporting the needs of her family.
