A loan of $1,500 helped to pay for a sporting ground to provide football training to local children.

Hamlet's story

Hamlet is from Gyumri town where he lives with his wife and mother. Hamlet has been giving football training to local children at a local sports school for the past five years. Hamlet is very skilled and professional in his job, so he has currently 54 students in the group who come to him to learn how to play football. Hamlet is the only breadwinner of the family, as his mother is retired and his wife takes care of household only.

By applying for this loan Hamlet asks for financial support to be able to purchase a sporting ground needed for his job. This will give him an opportunity to improve the quality of training he provides and make his training more time efficient. Hamlet has been approved for a loan within the framework of a new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF international. The start-up loan program provides business start-up loans with soft conditions to informal businesses that do not have access to credit products. This hard working and enthusiastic man, Hamlet, will be very thankful for the loan as it is very important to him.
