A loan of $1,025 helped to purchase a variety of goods to resell.

Moussa's story

Born around 1977 in Banasso (Fourou district), MOUSSA resides in Kadiana with his wife and children in a nuclear family. He quickly became interested in revenue-generating businesses, especially in the buying and selling of various goods. He is much in demand at the Kadiana market and particularly on market days. With a good eight years of experience in this domain, he is collaborating with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso to increase his capital in order to satisfy his ever-growing customer base. He is on his fourth individual loan after having repaid the previous ones. MOUSSA intends to use his loan to purchase batteries, sugar, cigarettes, tea, and canned foods. He gets his supplies from Bamako wholesalers. Accepting cash and sometimes credit, he makes his sales at the market. MOUSSA hopes to make a monthly profit of 100,000 francs CFA that will be used to meet family needs, pay back the loan, and reinvest in his business.
