A loan of $1,275 helped to purchase goats and pigs to stock his business.

Zacarias's story

Zacarías is 66 years old. He lives with his wife in the La Matanza district, whose residents make a living with their carob tree forests, fruit harvests, and the sale of small animals. It is located in Morropon, which is two hours from the city of Piura on the northern coast of Perú.

With the help of his wife, he makes a living by raising and selling small animals like pigs, chickens, and ducks. His business is located behind his home.

Zacarías has requested a loan of 3,500 nuevos soles to invest in the purchase of goats and pigs, which he will later fatten and sell in the neighboring villages in his community. This way, he will generate more income for his family.
