Yamileth Del Socorro's story

Yamileth is 37-years-old, married with three children aged 15, 12, and 3, and she is a native of Managua, a city that is located in the central region of the country. She is characterized as being hardworking and responsible with goals of personal improvement. Unfortunately, she could not study for the lack of financial resources so now she is struggling everyday to provide a better future for her children and to transform them into professionals. Thanks to her effort and her desire to succeed, she has a business that is a general shop. It is a small store that sells various products and foodstuffs such as beans, sugar, eggs, Meneitos brand snack crackers, juices, matches, cigarettes, candy, soda, spices, and toilet paper. She works in her store 12 hours a day offering her products. The purpose of her loan is to invest in working capital to stock her business with the purchase of various products to sell so that they can have a better income in the near future. Yamileth acknowledges the assistance that the investors of Kiva provide to poor people in poor countries such as Nicaragua to help them have a more dignified working environment.
