A loan of $375 helped to purchase plywood and other materials to make a home for her chickens..

Reyna's story

Reyna is 25-years-old, is married to Segundo who makes his living in transportation, and is the parent of her only child, who is 6 years of age. Together, they live comfortably in the home of her parents who help care for and provide support for living costs in the home. Reyna makes her living raising chickens. She has a space that has a capacity of 1,000 chickens which is located on her own land. She then sells to merchants in the nearest markets where she has a clientele that she was able to gain due to her punctual deliveries and good service. She does this activity at home thanks to the idea of her husband. She hopes to continue to grow and expand her farm and get a higher output. Before starting this business, she had no financial problems but decided to take this activity to feel like a more productive woman. Now, with her good results, she wants to continue with her business. This will be her 6th Kiva loan and she feels grateful to receive financial support to continue with her work. With the amount requested or 1,000 nuevos soles, she will invest in buying plywood and other materials to build a home for more chickens.
