A loan of $550 helped to buy work tools: hardhats and gloves, and to buy groceries for his store.

Basidelez's story

Basidelez, 47, lives with his wife and children in the rural area of Sallique, which is 90 minutes from the city of Pucará. The local people grow lemons and work in livestock farming. The area belongs to Jaén in the region of Cajamarca in the northern mountain range of Peru.

He is very well known in the area because he provides service as a master builder. He has a well-knit family and his wife supports him by running a small business at home selling grains such as corn and wheat, and groceries.

Basidelez has requested a loan in the amount of 1,500 PEN to buy work tools for construction, such as hardhats, gloves, and molds. He will use the rest to buy groceries for the business such as rice, oil, noodles, and vegetables to offer customers and generate more income for the family.
