A loan of $900 helped buy yams in the surrounding villages and rent a place to store her merchandise.

Ama's story

Ama T. is 52, married, and mother of 5 children. She sells yams in Adeta, a village located about 150 km from Lomé, the capital of Togo. She has been in this business for more than 6 years and is hoping with this, her second loan from FECECAV, to bolster her business by buying yams in the surrounding villages for re-sale. She also hopes to rent a place to store her merchandise. The increased sales will allow her to provide better for the needs of her children. Ama is the one who is wearing a pink bodice.
